Celebrate Canberra Day and support your community by joining in the Canberra Day Appeal Fun Run on Monday 9 March, in Lennox Gardens, Yarralumla.

Get ready to lace up your running shoes and take on a 5km or 10km run along the shores of Lake Burley Griffin for the Hands Across Canberra Canberra Day Appeal.

With proceeds from Fun Run entry fees donated to Hands Across Canberra, you are supporting people in need in our community. Hands Across Canberra provide funding for essential services, and support local charities, and community projects.   

The event is open to everyone, seasoned runners looking for a challenge, new runners wanting to take part in a community event, walkers, families, social groups and workplaces looking for an active way to celebrate Canberra Day, and community members who simply want to cheer on and support the participants!

Choose from the 5km walk or run, or the 10km run and register by 4pm Sunday 8 March 2026. Encourage friends, family and colleagues to join for a great purpose driven Canberra Day celebration!

Fees:

$30.00 for the 5km

$45.00 for the 10km

The 5km and 10km runs will be timed and medals will be awarded to finishers.

Proceeds from the Fun Run registrations will go to the Canberra Day Appeal, supporting over 300 charities across Canberra.

Activities

Whether you’re joining the run or coming along to support and celebrate there is something for everyone at the Canberra Day Appeal Fun Run!

The event site at Lennox Gardens will come alive from 7:30am to 11:30am with food vendors, music, and family-friendly activities, creating an atmosphere for runners, walkers, and spectators alike.

Enjoy the music from onsite DJ by Boombox2U, meet and greet with local sportspeople and team mascots, and for the little ones there will be bubbles and facepainting throughout the morning.
